Sunday Dalliance: Gilgamesh, Afghanistan, Metronomy, Geeks etc.
This week’s dalliances* (in chronological order):
dalliance* = the deliberate act of delaying and playing instead of working.
1. Windows & Mirrors (First Friday Video)
2. The Epic of Gilgamesh
It’s reportedly the first story ever written. The reason it has “epic” in the title is because it rewards the reader with a sex scene within the first few pages, lots of violence, gods galore and a cameo from “The Great Flood.”
3. Good to Great
What can you be the best in the world in?
Jim Collins’ business text kept me company on bus rides to and from Broad Ripple and challenged me with questions like the one written above. The company I work with swears by/follows Good to Great’s guiding principles and I’m similarly trying to apply them in my life/with my Sugar Cats.
4. Kickball
Just because.
5. Metronomy - The Look (Making Of)
I’m in love with the video (the song is yet to harness my heart). I’ve dabbled in animation while working on projects with Sugar Cat but nothing as ambitious as what they accomplish here.
6. Steadicams
I picked one up from work over the weekend to test.
7. Is Tropical - The Geeks
